I have a home fileserver with a Xeon E3110 processor which, although relatively
low power (65W) and quiet, I feel is overkill for what I'm using it for. It
basically just sits in the corner, sucking up 120-140 watts day and night. In
hindsight I probably should have purchased a VIA Nano, which

Yes, there were a couple flag days for lint, as described in

With these large drives, I don't trust single parity, and I wanted a little
more performance than a single vdev would be able to provide. While it would
certainly saturate a single gigabit link, I do a fair bit of proc

Mike,
Thanks for your help, the compiler not available error is gone after replacing
the /opt/onbld with new tar image.

Hey All,
I've got a OSOL box running svn_126 that has been running fine for the last few
months. Starting last week, it would kernel panic and reboot. This has now
begun happening every few hours.
I've attached copied of /var/adm/messages as well as copies from the dump.

found the culprit after a short investigation:
there is a file called ".inputrc" in my home directory.
its content read "set-bell-style none" when it should have read "set bell-style

Same here. Except it's snv_134, the letter "s" and a normal user.
I didn't investigate any further but still have access to the machine.
The problem has been there since the person sitting next to the machine tried
to get rid of the console beep, so it might be related to that somehow.
btw you c

Perhaps I am blind or looking in the wrong places because when I go to the
download page, I only see the following:
- OpenSolaris 2009.06 (X86 LiveCD)
- OpenSolaris 2009.06 (SPARC Auto Install)
Where can I locate the download link for the 'text installer' ISO?

Hi,
we have two OSOL boxes here with identical build 133, identical env, identical
keymap. One however doesn't print or type the letters "o", "k" and "c" once I
am root in the terminal. Behaviour is the same from putty, ssh'ing over the
other Osol machine, or even local. Can't even paste the le
