Hello! I am trying to run the latest alpha of Blender 2.5 on OpenSolaris snv
134 (x86). However, every time I try to run the binary, it kicks back the
following error:
libc.so.1: blender: fatal: libgettextlib-0.17.so: open failed: No such file or
directory

I have copied the libflashplayer.so file into both the
/usr/lib/firefox/plugins/ and ~/.mozilla/plugins/ directories and nothing
works. It keeps claiming that flash is not enabled. Also, the extras repo is
rejecting my connection with a 403 Forbidden error so I can't get flash from

Excellent. Now that I got that squared away... I am hoping I can use the
SpaceBall on Blender via WINE. I can't seem to get the native UNIX binary for
Blender to run for the life of me. My only fear is that WINE might not honor
the existence of the SpaceBall device and only recognize the mouse,
I tried that already, but sadly there was an incompatibility with the file on
my system. It was saying something about it being 32-bit but I was running on a
64-bit OS and would abort. Epic Phail.

Hey... I have tried those pre-compiled binaries for Blender 2.49b (located
here: http://os-solaris.ru/en/pakety/graphics/), but to no avail. I don't know
why... but I get an error saying that libGL.so.1 is missing and it aborts. Can
someone share their installation experiences with Blender on Op
