Hi there,
I am trying to install an Oracle 11g on an Opensolaris machine. As 11g is not
supported by OpenSolaris 32 bit, I'd like to install it in a Solaris 10 branded
zone.
so I installed the s10 package and tried to set up the zone as described in a
tutorial, with
p...@database:/# zonecfg
I have a osol based home NAS box with 2 controllers
- a LSI 1068
- a Intel 82801GR/GH (ICH7 Family)
If i pop out a disk from the LSI by
# zpool offline...
# cfgadm unconfigure...
and move the disk to another port lets say one of the SATA controler i can
# cfgadm configure
it but all tries
I need to give a non-root user the ability to execute the full 'cfgadm... '
cmnd functionality.
As in the below example the 'cfgadm -l' works but the 'cfgadm -c
unconfigure...' fails
# pfexec cfgadm -l

Hi,
Boss said "get a raid-controller compatible with OpenSolaris, I want the
most performing fileserver possible".
So I am looking for ideas, which sata-raid-controller to buy for a
9T-Fileserver :)

Actually virtualbox can be run in a zone. The following article doesnt give a
complete how-to but it does show the basics.

I've been trying to setup a NIS server on OpenSolaris, and haven't been very
successful.
I've followed most of the guides that I have found on BigAdmin and other
places, so I thought I should ask if someone else might have been able to get a
NIS server up and running properly.

Thanks, I appreciate the heads up.
I take it that "nwam" and "inetmenu" are competing technologies ? So to speak.

Hi
I am new to OS. I started the device driver utility tool and saw that the "ACPI
AC Device" --> Driver (is) Unavailable.
I have MacBook Pro and made a fresh installation from the OS 2008.5 LiveCD. Is
there a driver for my hardware?
