I had the same problem: my firewall was blocking dhcp from getting new leases.
I finally figured out how to fix that when I ran across this blog post:

Hi,
I have an opensolaris box attached to the internet at home (cable modem) and so
acts as a dhcp client for the attached interface. All works well but every few
weeks it appears that I lose the dhcp address and the ip address resets to;
