I have the same problem here.
I however have difficulty getting the -certopt option to work.
I try to run openssl x509 -text -certopt ext_parse -in newcert.pem -out
newcert.crt but get an error that says -certopt is not an option.
Please advise on how to run the -certopt option.

text using outlook... I receive this message on another mailer evolution
which does not handle smime. I save the message to disk and ask openssl
to verify it.

I like to buy a certificate from verisign or thawte that allows me to
sign other certificates. The test certificate produced have the
extension CA:FALSE. I'm not sure if I can sign anything with this kind
of certificate, please advise...
