Looks like u're Sun Workshop requires some patches
. if u're not able to compiler other c programs,
then there should be some sure problem with u're
SWC. Else try installing GNU's C Compiler, available
from http://www.sunfreeware.com

That's surprising that RH 6.2 did not come with a
make utility. Anyway. if "make" is not available u
can download it from any of the gnu mirror sites.
Or just simply look into
ftp://ftp.gnu.org/pub/gnu/
& install u're make utility.

The problem is with your "make" utility in linux.
But i believe red hat 6.2 has all the tools required
for compiling. I have Apache1.3.12+Mod_SSL+OpenSSL
running beautifully on my RH6.2.
Check out your make utility . if possible try
reinstalling the make utility.
