I installed the 64 bit Opensuse 12.3 (with KDE) on a small, entry level server. Things generally went flawlessly, with one minor annoyance.
I get a 'Notification' every few minutes that says, "Authorization failed" on one line, and "Failed to obtain authentication" on the next. It gives me only the option to dismiss the nitification by clicking the little 'x' at the top left of the notification window. It does not seem to be causing any harm, as the apps I usually use seem to work as expected. But what is really annoying is that this notification tells me precisely nothing about what program is producing the notifications or what service it is failing to get authorization for. I want notifications, when there are updates available for the system, and would like to be able to resolve problems that arise that cause notifications as they arise. As I am a programmer, and not a system administrator, and with limite experience with Linux anyway, I have no idea even where to look to find out what is happening. So, where do I start? I'll appreciate any information I receive.
