Hey,
I've got similar problem. Compute waits for libvirt to attach disk and
stops responding so it appears as XXX while listing services. Libvirt
freezes with Cannot acquire state change lock status and never comes
back. Usually after restarting libvirt compute goes back on-line.
How to fix

I’ve run into some unpredictable behavior attaching volumes to instances,
I can mount volumes sometimes, whilst other times status remains
“attaching” and my compute node dies. Anyone run into this issue?
Environment:
nova01 – cloud controller (compute disabled)
