[openstack-dev] [nova] Outlook on Ocata blueprints

2016-12-28 Thread Matt Riedemann
Over the last couple of days I've gone over each blueprint targeted for Ocata [1] which isn't yet implemented. I've categorized each based on it's current status or what my outlook is for it getting done in this release before the feature freeze on January 26th. The results are here:

Esra, Not sure what's your use case, but I would also take a look at nova LXC driver. It looks like you are treating your Containers as VMs and for that I would say the nova lxc driver is a better fit. [1] Docker has specific requirements on images and networking, which doesn't fit well in the

Wow. Thanks. Great job. Basically, it says that it is impossible to use live migration in production environment with tunneled transport for libvirt. On 12/28/2016 03:11 PM, Koniszewski, Pawel wrote: Hello everyone, We made a research to see how live migration performance varies between

Given the low attendance at the nova team meeting last week and a lot of people are on holiday this week let's skip the team meeting this week and resume on January 5th. I'm working on rounding up status on the remaining blueprints for Ocata and when I'm done going through that I'll post my

I agree this would make good PTG discussion for us, and maybe someone from TC could join in. We are somehow special beast as Kolla itself is just meant to be consumed. Kolla to me is similar to Oslo in that matter. But still we don't have oslo-compute projects, we have nova, but we would have

[openstack-dev] [nova] Live migration performance tests on 100 compute nodes

2016-12-28 Thread Koniszewski, Pawel
Hello everyone, We made a research to see how live migration performance varies between different configurations, especially we aimed to test tunneled vs non-tunneled live migrations. To test live migration we simulated a case of 0-day patching of 100 compute nodes (including reboot) with
