Can you clarify if the feature is being deprecated – as in still usable but not
recommended with a warning, or dropped, as-in, won’t work at all? You mention
both in the first two sentences.

After our icehouse - juno upgrade we are noticing sporadic but frequent errors
from nova-metadata when trying to serve metadata requests. The error is the
following:
[req-594325c6-44ed-465c-a8e4-bd5a8e5dbdcb None] Failed to get metadata for ip:
x.x.x.x 2015-02-19 12:16:45.903 25007 TRACE
Nevermind, I re-read it and missed the M portion of dropped. Sorry for the
confusion.
I have opened a puppet bug for this so we can switch the default value, it’s
still eventlet.

Heat works by calling other OpenStack services. So if you want, you could
try running Heat separately in a VM (with a modern distro). That should
work as long as it has network access to the other service endpoints
(keystone, nova, etc.).

Blargh – got to typing in the meeting and never hit send here. We had to move
because of conflicts from other meetings that came up since we first started.
We ended up going to #openstack-operators, but logged notes here:

Hello all,
Over the past few weeks the os-ansible-deployment team has been working on
getting the repository (https://github.com/stackforge/os-ansible-deployment)
into a more community friendly state. For anyone who’s look at the project in
the past and thought it was too Rackspace specific
