to someone unfamiliar with all the interconnected settings that need to be in
place. Having said that, one must still have an understanding of the various
server functions in order to correctly configure the mo

I have had luck running alsaconf (as root) to configure sound on a SuSE system
when I was expieriencing sound problems.
