Hey, all --
I'm running a number of opensuse servers, from 10.1 through 10.3.
One of those machines is set up as an LDAP server, which is used by the
others for authentication. User management is done via the relevant
YaST modules:
- LDAP Client -- sets up the auth mechanism and the like
- User
Hi, all --
I'm trying to figure out if there's a way to get a setting made in the
sysfs tree (in this case,
/sys/devices/system/clocksource/clocksource0/current_clocksource) to
persist across reboot.
Under opensuse 10.3 using a xen kernel, the default value in this node
is "xen". However, there
Hey, all --
Just updated a 10.1 machine to 10.3, which went smoothly. Now, though,
I'm running into an issue.
When I try to start a virtual machine with "xm create ...", the domU
fails to start.
Figuring that this was a problem with the config file format changing
from Xen 3.0.3 to Xen 3.1.0,
Currently, I use logsurfer to monitor a couple of log files (both system
and application). When certain phrases appear in the logs, I or others
are e-mailed that they've popped up.
For the most part, it works great. On occasion, though, it has a little
hissy fit and does strange things -- for ex

Hey, all --
I'm looking at setting up domainkeys for outbound mail from my domain.
(For those not familiar, domainkeys is a Yahoo invention that is
supposed to reduce spam. More info at
http://antispam.yahoo.com/domainkeys, and on its "successor", DKIM, at
http://www.dkim.org/.)

Hey, all --
Running apache 2.2 on a fully updated and patched opensuse 10.2 system.
I'm trying to get apache auth set up, and I'd like to use multiple
providers (ldap and flat file). Basically, the authentication logic
should look kind of like this:
If ((user is a valid LDAP user && user is a me

Hey, All --
Working on an opensuse 10.2 system, pretty much a standard install all
around. I'm using this box to test snmpd configurations. I'm just
using the standard net-snmp package from the repository.
According to the documentation in /usr/share/doc/packages/net-snmp/, I
should be able to

I've seen mention of this problem on the list previously, but no
solutions that work for me...
My setup:
- A SuSE Linux 9.3 OpenLDAP server
- A number of OpenSUSE 10.2 machines, with a very limited number of
local accounts, that authenticate against the aforementioned OpenLDAP
server.
- A couple o
Hey, all --
Yahoo's got this antispam thing, DomainKeys
(http://antispam.yahoo.com/domainkeys), that they're trying to
standardize.
My company has a fair number of customers who use yahoo addresses, with
whom we need to communicate (for customer service issues, order
confirmations, etc). Becau
Hey, all --
I've got a machine running SUSE 10.1. It's a pretty standard server
install, with the exception that it's running a custom-built set of
postgresql-8.0.3 RPMs.
Every time I run `rug lu`, it shows that updates for those packages (to
8.1.4-1.2) are available.
However, I'm not prepare
