Hi all, I fitted a new Nvidia 6200geforce (AGP) graphics card a few days ago, and I saw this intermittent (maybe once a week) fault for the 3rd time today.
http://www.users.zetnet.co.uk/phwilliamson/drawing2.png I was running openSuse 10.3 at the time, but I have also seen the same fault in openSuse 10.2. The first two times I saw it, I was using the latest release of the Nvidia drivers, and this last time I was using the latest beta version of the Nvidia drivers. The machine has been fine in most other respects, and the card performs well in 3D. I have just occasionally had some corrupted text, which has cleared if I force a re-draw. The problem shown in the link requires a re-start of the x-server to cure it. My main hope is to find out if this is a hardware or driver problem. I also fitted 2 extra DDR400 memory modules at the same time, so is it likely one of them is faulty ? The card appears to perform well in Windows XP, but I use XP so little it is not much of a test.
