is there a SuSE rpm package for OpenOffice.org available? I cannot find one.

Well, its included in all the distros and 2.2 is in the buildservice now

built for older products by the Build Service. The packages are available at
http://software.opensuse.org/download/OpenOffice.org/openSUSE_10.2/
