Have you tried escape="true" in the tag attribute?

I'm using the following JSP code to get an input textbox for a description. It works
fine, except that description must not contain the '"' character.
The example shown applies the description >>19" Monitor (CRT)<<. The HTML code
generated is shown in the line below. IE6.x only puts >>1
