Friends--
This is a different issue from my "I think" thread, so a separate post.
Today I ran an upgrade on synology nas, mariah, which is my openvpn
server. It caused my server to quit working. The culprit seems to be the
directive in the server.conf for 'group nobody.' (It ran OK until this
upgrade.) Is it a problem to comment out that line? Any idea how to get
back the security of having this non privileged group?
Details:
The openvpn.log shows: "Tue May 12 17:20:38 2015 setgid('nobody')
failed: Operation not permitted (errno=1) Tue May 12 17:20:38 2015
Exiting due to fatal error"
/etc/group shows this line: "nobody:x:99:"
To get it to run I commented out the line 'group nobody'.
Synology uses the commands synouser and synogroup, but the explanations
of how to use them are hard to find and pretty cryptic.
