i did a quick test, how good 'brotli' performs in compression on binary files versus e.g. xz/lzma...here it is:
bytes: 10.905.600 uncompressed 4.192.280 gzip -9 3.362.626 brotli -11 3.098.216 xz -9 --extreme 3.097.691 lzma -9 --extreme the uncompressed file is an unsquashfs'ed rootfs from bin/ar71xx/openwrt-ar71xx-generic-root.squashfs and then tar'ed. so nothing to talk about for now, especially the decompressor is HUGE and this must be taken into account. bye, bastian _______________________________________________ openwrt-devel mailing list openwrt-devel@lists.openwrt.org https://lists.openwrt.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/openwrt-devel
