I have an opsview master, and an opsview slave cluster consisting of two slave systems, all monitoring a small subset of my environment. All checks and notifications are supposed to be done by the slave cluster.
If a monitored system or service fails, I get notified by one of the slaves. If one of the slaves fails, I get notified about the slave failure, and all of the client systems continue to be monitored. If one of them fails, I do get notified by the remaining slave. If the master fails, I get no notification at all. I do notice that the opsview web display tells me that it is having trouble, but no notification is sent out. Shouldn't one or both of the slaves notify me? Or are they out partying now that their master is dead? My test environment has all three opsview systems with CentOS 5.3 and Opsview Community edition 3.3.1 installed. Thanks in advance for any words of wisdom. Ben Spade
