This position will be a strong software engineer for IT development initiatives, geared towards a combination of building custom applications, configuring, implementing and integrating Salesforce.Com, and/or designing and maintaining integration interfaces. This position will interact with other organizations in the IT group e.g., IT Operations and other IT Application teams in order to provide proactive solutions to the business and drive business value. This position calls for excellent competencies in a variety of areas, including: (a) Leadership and communication skills – to build and strengthen relationships both within and outside the organization. (b) Highly motivated and self-directed individual, bringing a strong sense of focus and energy to work. (c) Strong business domain expertise in the area of telecom, with a proven track record of providing systems / software solutions in specified areas of telecom operations e.g., customer care, provisioning, ordering, billing, etc. (d) Strong project leadership skills and execution focus to drive results through performance. (e) Strong technology skills, with hands on skills in the development side, with experience either in complex application configuration or enterprise application development. Good technical knowledge of any three or more of the following domains required – database modeling / design, APEX, Visual Force , Salesforce.Com, development frameworks and methodologies (.NET, JavaScript, AJAX, XML and XSD, DOM, IIS and web application definition, J2EE, Object Oriented Design, SOA (Service Oriented Architecture), etc.), transaction and messaging systems (Tuxedo, MQ Series, etc.), Software support tools (Shadow Studio, Visual Studio, Rational Clearcase, PL/SQL Developer, SQLServer Enterprise Manager), Application integration frameworks (BizTalk, Vitria, Web Services, etc.), Software Testing and Configuration Management tools and techniques. Responsibilities include: § Development and implementation of Salesforce.Com initiatives in the context of Windstream’s systems roadmap. § Development and production support of Salesforce.Com § Full working knowledge of the Systems Life Cycle development methodologies, from analysis through implementation. § Strong understanding and working knowledge of databases and associated development § Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills. § Thorough knowledge of software development methodologies § Good judgment in identifying issues and recommending solutions to others § Strong verbal and written communication skills. § Strong analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual skills. § Ability to implement and lead code-review process and coding standards § Manage multiple projects concurrently § Ability to think out of the box to solve complex business issues using technology creatively. § Application Support – Provide 24x7 production support on a rotating schedule communicating problem status and resolution time frames. § Commitment to an open, high integrity, hard working culture with a real sense of urgency § Extreme sense of urgency and high work ethic to get the job done regardless of the complexity or obstacles encountered. § Proven ability to 'flex' processes when needed to ensure delivery § Self-motivated individual § Customer focus and sense of advocacy Special Requirements/ Certifications: Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
