The main responsibilities include design, coding, unit testing and coding up with technical solutions for complex problems. Develops and implements complex internet and intranet applications on one or more platforms. Uses knowledge of web technologies, including C++, Java, Java Script, HTML, CGI, XML, Perl, ASP, multimedia applications, database modeling tools and/or database interactions. Evaluates systems specifications for client area web site requirements and determines and implements the most efficient and cost-effective software/package solution. Researches and tracks new web technologies, develops service applications, and analyzes business requirements as they pertain to web-based systems. Responsible for system quality assurance and consistency with installation and security policy and standards. May provide direction and guidance to less experienced staff. *Skill Requirements:* 10 or more years technical background 6+ years directly related web engineering experience Experience as a mentor in J2EE coding, Java Performance Tuning and Application Troubleshooting Solid Weblogic 10 experience Experience with IBM MQ/JMS, Solaris, Networking, Webserver SunOne, F5 loadbalancer and Introscope Pluses: Clearcase, Oracle Database, Maven2, Akamai *Candidates need to be able to:* Consults on tactical topics such as system interfaces, integration of e-commerce with core business systems, systems availability and response targets, customer service and support. Defines and resolves problems related to widely different platforms, hardware, software, coding structures, communication protocols. Works with vendors and common carriers to resolve Web-related issues. Resolves connectivity issues and workflow problems. Recommends scalable, advanced technologies and methods to integrate Web systems with existing systems, enabling the creation of new Web enterprises or expanding existing business onto the Web. Consults with staff responsible for determining hardware requirements and communication bandwidth to support projected transaction volumes and response time and system availability targets. Keeps abreast of new technological developments.
