*Location: Columbus, OH* *Duration: 12+ months* *Looking for expert Java developers to come in and help with the design of a customized webservices platform. The client is currently using a third party service to distribute their product to ebay, amazon, etc. They are building a webservices platform from scratch that will allow them to eliminate this third party service and save money. This person will work closely with the architect who was just hired this week.* *We need 1 Lead developer and 2 more Mid-Sr level candidates* *They would prefer the position to be contract to hire and they will sponsor visas. The initial contract will be at least 12 months. They will consider straight contractors as well.* *Top Skills: Java, Webservices, ECommerce, Websphere Commerce, Legacy Systems/ RPG* This position will report to the new CIO and has only been there about 70 days. He came from Chase and is completely redesigning and transforming the IT department from the ground up. Has hired 6 people in 70 days and the IT department is now 13 people. Needs 1 really senior person and maybe 2 mid level people. looking to hire quickly. Project: redesigning all of their digital channels and how their marketplace feeds work... Have no processes or development lifecycles... This person will help implement and create these things. They are building their own webservices layer to help cut out the middle man that they currently have to go through to sell things on Amazon, Ebay, etc. This is going to completely transform the way they do business at Jegs. Current environment is: RPG programming, Websphere Commerce, 2004 PKS... They do have a little Windows and Linux but basically no infrastructure. AS 400, use Manhattan as their WMS (2004 version)... All of their applications are homegrown and extremely customized. Soft skills: need someone who can think before saying something because once something is said at Jegs it is the gospel... Don't promise things they cannot deliver. Needs to be Autonomous *Position Title: *Java/ Webservices Technical Lead *Required Skills:* 8+ years of experience with Java Development. 3+ years of experience with Websphere Commerce Server ERP or Ecommerce Development Must have experience with Full Stack Development Must have experience with design Must have experience with code reviews Must have an understanding and common knowledge of relational database structures Must have extensive experience with HTML CSS and Javascript Must have experience supporting existing software applications Must have experience gathering requirements documents Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills Must be able to work with both the business and IT sides Must have excellent troubleshooting and overall problem solving skills Must have the ability and confidence to motivate others Must have a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field *Desired Skills: * Some experience with AS400 The ability to review prototypes is desired. *Description of Role/Responsibilities:* This is a HUGE opportunity for someone with a Java development background to broaden their horizons and contribute to a very successful, dynamic company who is constructing a Webservices layer from scratch.
