*Position: Hadoop developer/Big data* *Location: Boston MA* *Duration:6+ Months* *An ideal candidate should possess:* - A strong understanding of distributed data processing with Hadoop. - A deep understanding with at least one of the emerging NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra, HBase, etc.). Cassandra is a big plus. - List of Responsibilities - Act a technical SME supporting pre-sales and deployment efforts of Cassandra databases. - Analyze customer requirements (# of feeding system, # of entities, records, etc) and make sizing recommendations for a Cassandra database. - Account for capacity growth - Recommend # of nodes, and provide guidance to infrastructure team on server specifications to support database. - Work with project manager to develop a realistic rollout and deployment plan for database based on specifications and design. - Required Experience - 5 years of exposure to solution design especially in large distributed environments involving n tier architecture infrastructures, and service delivery - 2 years of exposure to the Big Data space.
