Senior Business Analyst GC USC Only Location: Berwyn, PA Duration: 6 month contract, could go longer or go perm after 6-8 months on right person Candidates: USC or GC’s and must be local Phone interview then in person interview *Work Experience:* - 8 years of Business Analysis experience in software development, required. - 12 years of relevant technical, system analysis, and business work experience, required. - *Tax or financial industry experience preferred.* The purpose of the Business Analysis position is to support the Software Production Procedural Development in the Connectors project (50%) and to support analysis work required for the products Q Series, L Series, Comm Tax, and Payroll releases. The preference is to have someone that has experience with both waterfall and agile. Might consider if they have experience with only one. They really should have experience with waterfall, sprint, agile, been around larger software development projects, maybe have led BA’s on a project, experience with use cases, requirement gathering, breaking down the business process, implementation experience working with DB’s and architects. Looking for someone to do deep dive systems analysis. They don’t have to have a development background; it’s icing on the cake if they do. Want individuals who have a substantial amount of experience. We are seeking a *Senior Business Systems Analyst* to perform analysis of product requirements as defined by the product managers, domain specialists, and potential or existing customers. Based on this analysis, creates business requirements, product and technical specifications, and analysis artifacts that are used by Design, Development, Testing, Technical Writing, and Training as the basis for the design, construction, and implementation of business and software solutions. *Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities: * - Provides consultancy support to assigned business customers in defining or designing inter-related business processes. - Leads the negotiation and facilitation of expectations between the business requirement stakeholders and the development community. - Participates in and may lead planning meetings with multiple customers to improve complex business processes that may relate to other products. - Provides factual content and participates in the writing of feasibility studies for development projects, business solutions projects, and complex enhancements. - Develops relationships with one or more customers by applying in-depth knowledge of multiple customer business processes to provide and manage the development and implementation of proactive product solutions. Resolves conflicts as needed. - Works closely with product managers, customer groups and domain specialists in the specification and analysis of software products using software process engineering, requirements engineering, product development methodologies, and the techniques and tools necessary for producing quality analysis artifacts in multiple development environments. - Applies multiple advanced business analysis techniques to completing assigned project tasks (i.e. structured, OOA, OOD). Participates in the implementation of complex project methodologies working as a lead project team member. Takes initiative in coordinating dependent tasks and completing un-planned work efforts as necessary. - Decompose high-level business and user requirements into functional requirements specified in an appropriate level of detail suitable for use by those must base their work on the requirements. - Represents requirements using alternative views, such as analysis models (diagrams), prototypes, or scenarios where appropriate - Leads the requirements analysis and verification work efforts ensuring that requirement statements are complete, consistent, concise, comprehensible, traceable, feasible, unambiguous, and verifiable, and that they conform to standards. - Leads in requirements prioritization. - Manages the peer reviews and inspections of requirements documents to ensure that the requirements were interpreted correctly. - Provides a business process engineering perspective during design review for projects. - Gathers and analyzes the systems requirements for the project staff, and develops internal applications and database systems to support the identified requirements. Documents all system designs, and provides maintenance as needed. - Develops and reviews tests plans and cases. Works with Testing to develop quality test coverage. Assists in developing the data necessary to test the application. - Provides support for newly implemented solutions and enhanced applications, as necessary. - Performs in-depth system analysis for enhancements and modifications to application and database systems, and the basic analysis for new systems. - Develops and tests modifications to application and database systems from an analytical perspective. Documents all modified and enhanced designs and analysis artifacts. - Develops internal application tools when necessary to support a business process and/or project requirements. - Provides an overall analysis status to the project manager, and proactively communicates any scheduling, scope, or cost issues. Provides a task/project status to all stakeholders. - Researches, assesses recommendations, and advises project team on business process steps. - Researches and recommends potential solutions to highly complex development, process requirement, system, and operational problems. - Researches Technical trends and seeks ways to apply technology to support business processes. - Applies financial understanding and knowledge of a business market and the future direction of the product suite to business process improvement recommendations. - Serves as the project lead for business analysis tasks on highly complex mission critical projects with minimal supervision. Estimates and schedules business analysis tasks with knowledge of dependencies and risks. Leads internal projects as necessary. - Establishes and implements effective requirements practices, including use and continuous improvement of a requirements process. Assist with the development of the organization’s requirements engineering policies, procedures, and tools including the implementation requirements reuse across projects. - Identifies ways to assist product management in product planning through requirements development and analysis. Propose new product features and updates. Performs demonstrations and presentations on the functionality of the application as well as the technical operations. - Works with third parties to establish and maintain working relationships. Manages project schedules with third parties. - Coordinates the work of other business analysts providing direction and performance feedback when necessary. - Leads other projects or duties as assigned. - Other functions may be assigned and management retains the right to add or change the duties at any time. *Education & Training:* - Bachelor’s Degree and/or Masters in related field, specialized training or equivalent work experience. - A recognized Business Analysis Certification or proof of equivalent knowledge required. *Specialized Knowledge & Skills: * - Requires extensive experience and an in-depth knowledge of product, requirements processing, business analysis and modeling, information systems, software development lifecycles, facilitation and influencing, and business process development. - Be an expert in several business analysis methods (Procedural, Object Oriented, Joint Application Development, and Rapid Prototyping). - Knowledge of Income Tax a plus. - Must have experience in leading teams of business analysts in software development projects. - Demonstrate a working knowledge of relational database concepts and the related modeling and implementation tools. - Be able to develop internal applications and/or database systems to meet project member needs. - Demonstrate a full knowledge of the latest areas of new technology and how they could apply to internal and commercial business needs. - Have a demonstrated ability in leading teams assigned to large complex development projects, and/or a demonstrated ability to perform highly complex technical tasks related to mission critical systems. - Work independently with an ability of planning, prioritizing, and completing large complex work assignments requiring only minimal direction. - Excellent communication (oral, written, presentation and facilitation) skills. - Must be results oriented, customer focused and able to manage multiple high-visibility or high-impact projects simultaneously. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages is required. - Sufficient knowledge of business communications, including telephone, voicemail, and e-mail, and operations of office machines, such as photocopier, scanner, and fax.
