Automation QA Tester Columbus, OH 6+ Months contract Reviews Business Requirements, Functional Specifications, and Test Cases to understand the functional and technical requirements in order to test the application and verify those requirements are successfully met. Executes test scripts and documents defects for test scripts where the actual results do not successfully meet expected results. Design test procedures, maintenance procedures and configurations. Creates detailed test cases and scripts, works with Business Analyst to determine requirements are captured correctly. Works with development team to analyze and resolve defects. Has moderate interaction with internal customers. Role should include as its primary duty either (a) the exercise of discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance. (b) Design work (Design means a tailored design in order to meet a specific client request) or (c) Programming (Programming means writing original programs using computer code that is intended for use on a wide scale basis. Writing test scripts used in troubleshooting problems would generally not be considered “programming” unless the script is intended to be used as a script for use on a repetitive basis for troubleshooting (i.e. – when other users call, the test script is used for the purposes of troubleshooting their issue). This position should typically be used for a mid-level, more seasoned, fully proficient resource. Automation scripts will be part of both functional and regression testing cycles. - Interact with development team, business analysts, project managers, and other QA team members to develop understanding of the the project and testing objectives. - Analyze test results and provide standard text execution metrics and reports to management. - Drive the tracking, communication, and resolution of application defects. Assist Application Developers and Production Support staff in identifying and resolving defects. - Assess and revise test scenarios and scope based on test results and/or changes in product design. Adapt regression testing strategy based on issues uncovered and changing priorities. -Utilize ALM for test case development, defect management, and reporting.
