*Job description:*

·         Release & Deployment Management is an integral part of the part
of the software development life cycle.

·         Release & Deployment Management at CareFirst includes planning,
scheduling and controlling the movement of releases from development to
test and production environments.

·         The primary objective of Release and Deployment Management is to
ensure that the integrity of CareFirst’s production environment is
protected and that the correct components are released.

·         The Release & Deployment Management function includes governance,
oversight and frequent tactical involvement in the following key practice
components:

·         Tactical involvement in annual release planning consistent with a
pre-defined release calendar.

·         Practice involvement in annual scheduling of releases approved
through a Change Management process.

·         Tactical practice involvement in the process focused at the
determination of the readiness of each release based on release criteria
(quality of release, release package and production environment readiness,
training and support plans, rollout and back-out planning, as well as risk
management planning) in advance of promotion to production.

·         Tactical practice involvement in functional integration with
Change and Configuration management; that releases planned are consistent
with the requirements of the associated approved Change Request (CR).

·         Tactical practice involvement in release packaging or bundling
(when performed) relies on efficient consolidation criteria.

·         Production deployment criteria that includes verifiability of
adequate testing conducted and a defect-free product.

·         Tactical practice involvement in risk-detective reviews that
facilitate early detection and resolution of risks in advance of promotion
to production

·         Tactical practice involvement in promotion to production
techniques consistent with pre-defined structured implementation guidelines
supported by installation procedures and back-out plans.

·         Tactical management and data-driven decision-making familiarity
with ITIL-centric Release and Deployment Management practice.

·         Stewardship of the Release and Deployment Management policy
revisions, practice guide maintenance, compliance management, continuous
improvement and practice training.



Requirements:

·          5 years or more; experience in practice creation &
implementation; using ITIL/ITSM / CMMI or other frameworks.

·         Verifiable experience (at least 5 years) of Change Management
operations responsibilities.

·         Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science,
Management Information Systems or related degree or equivalent experience.
Master’s Degree a plus.

·          5+ years of IT and business experience in strategic planning,
development, implementation, and maintenance of systems, preferably across
multiple hardware and software platforms.

·         Experience and knowledge of change management principles,
methodologies and tools (Remedy, Service Now, HP Service Manager)

·         Excellent ability to manage multiple high priority efforts/
competing priorities and flexibility to adjust to changing requirements,
schedules and priorities.

·         ITIL and Six Sigma Practitioner Preferred

·          Knowledge of ITIL-centric Change Management tools

·         Working knowledge of Incident/Problem/Change Management
frameworks such as ITIL v3, TQM or ISO 9000:2000 (certification not
required, but is a plus)

·          Advanced verbal and written communication skills, including
facilitation leadership and presentation development, able to communicate
at C-Suite and Executive level

·         Excellent interpersonal skills to build positive working
relationships across groups and all management levels.

·         Demonstrate strong attention to detail; Work under requirements
which call for immediate action and timely results.

·         Able to understand operational process data requirements, and
design services to meet the needs of the various CareFirst departments.

·         Ability to excel in ambiguous business situations by adapting
plans and approach.

·         Attractive leadership skills in a high-paced and intellectually
challenging setting

·         Advanced knowledge and experience preparing, securing approval
and managing annual departmental budgets
