IL Rate: 50$/hr Duration: Long term (2 years) *need locals or nearby state to attend an in-person interview* * * *Description below* Need for an established Data Center project involving the establishment of a second data center and initiative to bring Disaster Recovery support in-house. This project involves the adoption of a Future State Architecture (FSA) that defines a simplified networking infrastructure (NSS) and lays out goals for a common shared infrastructure that will more efficiently support operational requirements. Our client is offering the ability to help implement a drive towards efficiency and take advantage of the "green field" that the FSA change provides. You will be helping to create an end-to-end automation to help build and manage the distributed infrastructure. We need a resource with in depth experience with vendor software products in the following areas: Orchestration: Coordinate invocation of existing tools and processes Provisioning: Interact with systems, including servers, storage, network and security components, to effect support of new instances and applications Imaging: Take a snapshot of an existing system with the capability of re-deploying another instance of that system Maintenance: Perform defined, standard maintenance procedures on a system, e.g. apply patches Operations: Provide a common interface for standardized operational procedures, e.g., stop, start *Assignment Description/Responsibilities:* * Assist with the Data Center RFP for tool(s) that will support the technical approach of automating future system deployments and improve maintenance and operations by integrating with and supplementing established tools and processes * Identify the requirements and complete the questions provided to the RFP vendors selected * Leverage past knowledge and use of automation software to help with decision process of RFP * Participate in the design of Data Center for use in the migration from the current state environment (Prod) to Production 2.0 to implementation of the proposed DR state *Required Technical Skills:* * Hands on experience planning, installing and configuring data center automation solutions that includes automation of the following (at a minimum): Hardware and o/s installation; Middleware software installation; Custom applications installation; Networking configurations; Storage configurations * Experience with planning and implementing enterprise size migrations of complete system environments from current state to future state * Experience incorporating large scale DR implementations with existing environments * Experience with the following virtualization technologies: Vmware (Version 3.5, and 4.0, OS - Windows, Suse, Redhat); IBM Hypervisor (P5 and P6 Series hardware, OS - AIX, Linux OS) *Preferred Technical Skills:* * Experience with any of the following software products: Automation Software - BMC - BladeLogic Server Automation Suite; HP - Server Automation Software; CA * Spectrum Automation Manager; IBM * Data Center Automation (Tivoli Provisioning Manager); Scalent - Infrastructure Manager (IM); Xkoto * GridScale; Egenera * Pan Manager * Experience with middleware software and application automation, such as: Phurnace or IBM WAS XD -- Thanks & Regards, Abhi a...@cigniti.com -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "oraapps" group.
