Required experience with BI models and database architecture. *The client is REALLY targeting someone that has an online (industry) / digital media background such as the following companies: AOL, Google, Weather.com, WebMD, ETrade, Amazon, CNN, etc. * Here are some of the details: - *More than 5 years hands on experience in delivering the 3NF and Dimensional / Snow flake star schema*** - *Prior experience and functional knowledge about the Web Advertising industries or Digital Media industry and providing solution in Web industry based BI solutions* - *Working knowledge of data architecture principles, terminology and data modeling techniques*** - *Develop and maintain conceptual, logical and physical data models to meet requirements and strategies*** - *Create and maintain Source to target data mappings, define comprehensive transformations rules*** - *Drive quality improvement initiatives for various of data and metrics for business intelligence* - *Conduct peer reviews for Data Models, ETL architecture, design and code for all business intelligence related initiatives* - *Ideally he wants someone who has been a data modeler/architect for a Web Advertising company/Digital Media Industry* - *The project is rebuilding the infrastructure on Netezza. * - This person will be working with Conformed Dimensions *A conformed dimension is a set of data attributes that have been physically implemented in multiple database tables using the same structure, attributes, domain values, definitions and concepts in each implementation. Unlike in operational systems where data redundancy is normally avoided, data replication is expected in the Data Warehouse world. To provide fast access and intuitive "drill down" capabilities of data originating from multiple operational systems, it is often necessary to replicate dimensional data in Data Warehouses and in Data Marts. Un-conformed dimensions imply the existence of logical and/or physical inconsistencies that should be avoided. * - *Main skills: Data Modeling and strong SQL* - Need someone who is very hands on - *Knowledge of Informatica and MicroStrategy – don’t need a lot of experience, will be working close to ETL Architects/Developers.* - *Experience in high volume environments. Netezza or Teradata experience is very good.* - *This is a new position.
