We look for a strong technologist with Java and C++ skills. The role will include a combination of long-term strategic development and shorter-term business focused development on this trading platform. The main focus will be to deliver increased automation to the trading desks and expand electronic trading capabilities into new business areas. You would be expected to gain expertise in several components of this platform and take full ownership of your projects from requirement gathering to roll-out. The successful candidate requires a very strong technical background as well as excellent leadership, communication and team management skills. The candidate should have hands-on technical lead experience and he or she will be expected to code and deliver software, as well as interface directly with both business and IT personnel. *Skills Required: * · Professional development experience: 8+ years · Proven experience working in small to medium size development teams, delivering significant technology projects. · Good understanding of project delivery and SDLC · Development experience in Object-Oriented Analysis and Programming and working with mixture of new and legacy systems. · Strong experience in designing and deploying mission critical, infrastructure software that runs in a real-time, multi-threaded environment. · Strong Core Java · Strong Unix / Linux. · Good knowledge of SOAP / XML / WSDL. · Good knowledge of SQL. · Knowledge of Fixed Income markets and products a strong plus. · Experience supporting distributed systems in a highly complex, high-urgency environment. · Ability to troubleshoot / follow a methodical approach to problem resolution. · Strong interest in the financial business (albeit no prior knowledge is required). · Good problem-solving, result-focused, can-do attitude and strong focus to keep the business running and competitive. · Experience of iterative / agile development practices. · Exposure to working in a global delivery team. · Experience supporting applications in a high-urgency environment · Comfortable with direct interaction with the business users at all levels. · Have good communication skills, and be able to explain complex IT problems in simple, businesslike terminology for ease of user understanding. · Highly motivated, analytical thinking individual, who can work in a demanding, multi-tasking environment. *Skills Desired: * · C++ · Java / Hibernate, Spring · CEP (e.g. Aleri or Apama) · C# · Perl. · Sybase · Korn shell. · Working knowledge of Fixed Income products and business. · Working knowledge of Fixed Income trading systems. · Working knowledge of networking.
