Title: Spotfire Support Engineer**

representatives F2F for final interview and either live in Houston or
relocate to Houston for the duration of the assignment.**

we are looking for candidates who meet *ALL other qualifications* that are
able to participate in a paid Spotfire training course for 7 weeks after
going through the client interview process) and willing *to commit 2+
years*to this role at our client.

Job Function:  to provide support for the Spotfire application environment
hosting  ‘Solutions’ developed by the Spotfire Development team.**

We are  looking for a support team (4-5 people) in Houston on site under
direct supervision of the client to strengthen their support team (currently
a single Spotfire support  staff in Europe) and to take on some support
activities.  Ideally someone with Spotfire exposure, *otherwise with similar
tools such as Business Objects, Cognos, etc.* As stated in below Job
Description,  this is not a Developer role (that will come later) but a
support and troubleshooting role requiring a variety of infrastructure
skills.  We work closely with the Development Team responsible for the
Development and Support of customer specific Spotfire Solutions.  **

Within Technical Landscape Services, the subdivision Subsurface Computing
Services (SCS) is supporting the Application Landscape for Technical
Professionals in Shell Upstream. SCS integrates standard infrastructure
components (such as network, servers, databases) provided by our client’s
strategic infrastructure and software suppliers into service bundles, adding
niche support where required.**

One of the services in our portfolio is TIBCO Spotfire - a generic
interactive data analysis tool predominantly used to explore Upstream
related data. The service is hosted in Global Data Centres in Europe and the
United states, and support is provided from locations in Rijswijk (The
Netherlands) and Houston (US). **

Our support scope includes:**

- The provisioning of the integrated Spotfire environment (Spotfire Server,
Webplayer, Client software).**

- Daily administrative tasks (user registration, usage monitoring etc.)**

- Request, Incident and Problem management (in cooperation with our hosting
and network providers)   **

- Basic functional support ('how to' questions on standard Spotfire
functionality).**

- Promotion to production and cloning of Spotfire Solutions and Information
Models developed by a separate Development Team.**

- Service enhancements (new Spotfire software releases, infrastructure
upgrades, technical improvements)**

Due to maturation of our Spotfire service (support as well as technical
setup) we are looking for support staff with the following skill set:**

Technical skills:**

Experience with Spotfire, both from a technical support point of view as
well as basic functionality. - *(nice to have – will train on Spotfire if
necessary)***

- Ability to analyze technical problems (particularly connectivity and
access problems) *-Required***

- Microsoft Windows 2003/2008 Server and associated technologies -*Required*

- Experience with SQL, BUSINESS OBJECTS, and COGNOS -*Required***

- JDBC/ODBC –ABSOLUTELY REQUIRED NO EXCEPTIONS**

- Web technologies (IIS, Apache Tomcat); ASP.Net *(ABSOLUTELY REQUIRED)***

- Authorisation/authentication (SSH, kerberos, Active Directory, LDAP)
