Role -:Network Administrator Location -: Warren, MI Rate -: $45/hr on c2c Duration -: 6-12 months Skills * Understanding of Networking basics, TCP/IP concepts, VPN concepts, Routing protocols, Wireless networks, WAN compression and Acceleration Devices (Riverbed, Silverpeak), Load Balancer, ACL, Firewall, . Implementation of GM's ISP&P and initiation and management security-related projects . Leading Network reviews and audits required for regulatory and policy compliance . Acquires and applies skills and knowledge through training and/or documentation . Accepts changes in the GM environment, organizational structure, direction or priorities . Acquires knowledge of the GM's business in assigned area . Acquires knowledge of the GM's industry . Assists in the cost/benefit analysis of alternative technical solutions . Uses written communication to improve exchanges of information and relationships . Maintains knowledge of current technology through available training and individual study Job Description . Focuses on the overall health of the network, overseeing server deployment, security, and ensuring persistent network connectivity . Oversees the installation and updates to any software as well as install and maintain any hardware needed to operate the network . Provides guidance when upgrades in hardware or software are required to create a new network or enhance an existing one . Maintain Customer's Network LAN / WAN infrastructure, including insuring compliance and currency of the software version . Work closely with System Administrators, Network Administrators and others to ensure policies are being followed and appropriate steps are taken to protect the Customer's infrastructure . Provide 3rd level software support to the support groups and the Customer to assist in resolving any network related issues . Performs assignment of network addresses, routing protocols and routing table configuration . Handles configuration of authentication and authorization-directory services . Oversees hardware and software installation and maintenance; runs diagnostics, assign privileges and in general maintain the network . Creates network addresses, assign routing protocols, configure routing tables . Establishes security measures necessary to protect the network . Troubleshoots when there is a need to monitor activity of a specific user or change access protocols for any reason . Provides input on the purchase of new hardware or software, making recommendations for products that will enhance the productivity . Configures software to adapt it to specific Customer application needs . Design and rollout new product releases like switches & routers into the customer's infrastructure . Prepare product comparisons and roll out a different vendor's product if selected by the Customer . Perform Root Cause Analysis to determine the cause of the infection and the steps needed to remediate issues .
