*Job Description:*



*Position Description*

·         Android developer to work on our suite of mobile applications.

·         Work with engineering team in crafting/supporting mobile
applications for Android devices.

·         Mobile team works collaboratively on Android, iOS, HTML5 and Ruby
on Rails (our API backend).

·         Use of Github, Pivotal Tracker, HockeyApp and Chef in our
day-to-day development, as well as a suite of 3rd party providers
(UrbanAirship, Flurry, among others).



This position requires fluency with Java, Android SDK frameworks and
development practices.



*Position Responsibilities*

·         Work on all aspects of Android projects with an emphasis on an
intuitive user experience

·         Interpret UI/UX requirements and mockups into coherent functional
specifications, and in turn high-performance Android phone and tablet apps

·         Research the latest technologies and share your discoveries with
the team

·         Participate in feature design, implementation and QA to ensure a
high-quality product

·         Interact directly with Product Management, Design, QA and remote
server-side engineering groups as part of a cohesive team



*Requirements*

·         4+ years of relevant professional experience; 2+ years of
experience with mobile technologies and delivery of native Android
applications

·         Strong architectural and practical knowledge of native Android
development

·         Solid use of Android design patterns and the developer toolchains
(Eclipse, Android Studio)

·         Comfortable with consumption of web services, including RESTful
JSON and social APIs

·         Experience working in an Agile environment with little supervision

·         Experience with Agile development tools and practices.

·         Ability to convert requirements into usable specifications.

·         Links to one or more published native Android applications

·         Understand the proper use of fragments and XML layouts to create
adaptive interfaces for various device form factors

·         Familiarity with TDD, testing frameworks, continuous integration

·         Familiarity with dependency injection

·         Bonus points for Roboelectric (automated UI testing and mocking),
Dagger (dependency injection) and Calabash (functional testing)





*Nice to Haves*

·         Bachelor's or advanced degree in Computer Science

·         Experience with web development, e.g. HTML5, JS, etc.

·         Experience with Ruby and/or RoR

·         Experience on iOS or other mobile platforms

·         Experience working with a distributed team
