Job: Application Systems Analyst / Programmer

Location: NYC

Duration: 6 Months



*PRIMARY PURPOSE: *



Perform all aspects of Software Development Life Cycle, including problem
investigation, business analysis, design, implementation, maintenance, and
support as part of a technology team focused on support of an Equity
Investments group.  Position primarily consists of providing strong
technical knowledge to the Equity Technology team.



The candidate should have strong technical skills with a focus on Microsoft
Technologies.  The candidate should possess good communication skills, and
hold a BS in Computer Science or similar curriculum.  Financial services
experience is desired but not required.

*MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES*:



*1.      *Develop software for the Equity Traders and PMs *using Microsoft
Technologies, ASP.NET, C#/VB.NET, XML and SQL Server.*

2.      Candidate will be involved in longer term project implementation in
addition to smaller project tasks.

3.      The candidate will need to be able to work independently and within
a small team.

4.      Candidate is expected to build a strong rapport with the
quantitative equity team, the trading desk, portfolio managers, and
operations personnel.

5.      Candidate must be flexible and have strong communication skills to
facilitate prompt problem resolution.

*TECHNICAL KNOWLDEGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:*



1.      BS Degree in Computer Science or similar curriculum.

*2.      **Between 2-6 years of application development experience.*

*3.      **Strong Microsoft SQL experience required (MS SQL2000/2005).  At
least 2 years relational database experience. *

*4.      **At least 2 years working with Microsoft Development tools,
including C#, VB.NET, ASP.NET or XML.*

*5.      **Experience developing and supporting Client/Server technology.*

*6.      **Experience supporting job processing streams and scheduling
environment is a plus.*

*7.      **Experience with Microsoft SQL Reporting Services preferred.*

*8.      **Experience in object-oriented programming.*

9.      *Experience in statistical programming language tools (R or S/S+) is
a plus*.







*BUSINESS KNOWLDEGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:*

1.      Experience developing financial applications and understanding
financial concepts is desired but not required.

2.      Experience supporting and developing applications for Equity
investment groups specifically trading systems, trade order entry systems,
decision support portfolio management systems, and/or quantitative equity
software is a strong plus.

3.      Investment Management background is a strong plus.

4.      Knowledge of Investment Management Compliance rules and experience
developing software to enforce these rules is a plus.

5.      Experience with multi-currency International Portfolio Management
and Trading applications is a plus.
