USG direct client is looking for  *QA Engineer *at *Lawrenceville, NJ*

*Detail Job Description:*

This QA Engineer position calls for quality assurance and software test
engineering activities to be completed on assigned projects to ensure that
tested software meets requirements and standards prior to production
release. The QA Engineer will participate in integration, system, and
acceptance testing for all software and hardware products that comprise the
Conditional Access system.


*Candidates must be able to appear on site if called upon, F2F is required.*



*Job activities include:*

•         Preparing detailed software test plans.



•         Executing the software tests according to plan.



•         Detailed results verification.



•         Certification of QA deliverables and testing artifacts.



*Duties and Responsibilities:*



•         Review project documentation as a basis for:

o Understanding business and application functionality and features. o Test
coverage definition.



o     Preparation of detailed testing plans and documentation.



•         Development and maintenance of Conditional Access test
specifications including: o Test strategies.

o  Detailed test cases.

o Manual test scripts and procedures. o Test data.

o  Automated test scripts as needed.



•         Test execution of subsystems critical to providing conditional
access and content protection delivered via satellite or internet protocol
according to planned/assigned activities.



•         Tracking and communication of testing status including:

o     Defect identification.

o     Percentage of planned tests completed.

o     Failure rate and blocked test identification.



o        Issues and risks.



•         Conduct test passes on new software as well as regression passes
on existing systems.



•         Collaborate with the Advanced Development Group, OEM Engineering,
Innovations Center, Supply Chain, Streaming Services and Products, and
Subscriber Management System teams for test design, execution, and
deployment coordination.



•         Interface with Conditional Access Operations team as assigned
regarding new software releases, training, and trouble-shooting production
problems.



•         Ownership and resolution verification of issues encountered in
testing.



•         Proactively determines technical issues and solutions.



*Supervisory Responsibilities:*

•         There are no supervisory responsibilities associated with this
job.



*Minimum Qualifications:*

•         BS in Engineering or Information Systems.



•         5+ years of experience in software testing and quality assurance
in a software engineering or application development discipline.



•         2+ years’ experience designing, developing, and testing secure
systems.



*Technical Skills:*

•         Strong comprehension of Software Development Life Cycle and
Configuration Management including Agile Scrum.



•         Comprehension of Object-Oriented Programming.



•         Comprehension of RESTful web services, SOA.



•         Skilled in Transact-SQL.



•         Skilled in MS SQL Server and strong understanding of relational
database concepts.



•         Strong skills with Excel.



•         Multi-platform experience (Windows / Unix)..
