Hello JoJo
I had a similar problem with oracle 9i on NT.
Check if there is a new CD that includes the patches that came out since you
got your CD.
In my case I got a new CD, build 2, that solved the problem.

Hello Bill
Replication is not so hard to do.
Just call for Oracle expert.
I needed to do replication and got nowhere FAST.
After An oracle expert came, we worked for about 6 hours and I got a script
that does synchronic replication
between 2 dB's.
Basically you have to do the following:
1)
7.1.6?? You mean 8.1.6 right?
Go to technet.oracle.com ( free registration if you don't have an account )
and go to the software section. You should find what you need there.

I don't believe those are available for download, at least not legally.

Its been a long time since I have done replication but one thing
I would advise is include it during your logical design phase. Once
you have the schema built and ready to go, adding replication afterwards
really limits you. You can do it no problem, you choices just become
more limited.
Hi Yechiel,
I'm starting to get embarrassed because I have the feeling the problem was
not enough disk space. !
I completely manually uninstalled 9i yesterday and tried reinstalling it,
and got to the same place, only to error out again, while creating clone
database. This time I checked how
We are using replication as a way to protect ourselves against hardware
failure.
We have a new application for dealers room(foreign exchange deals).
There was a need to recover after hardware BANG.
We are using one machine as database server and the other as backup.
There is no access or update
I do not know about: Am I right in my guess that most Oracle dba's
are administering on Unix ??.
We are wintel for now.
