Admin. got a wild hair and changed the hostname on us for a 9ias v2
server.
Now
none of the processes work and getting all kinds of unhandled java exceptions
regarding hostname
oracle.ias.repository.schema.SchemaException:Unable to connect to

Have the
SysAdmin change the hostname back. Haven't used 9iAS but in the past, the
hostname was embedded in the install config files. You can put in a DNS
alias for your old hostname for a work around.

This appears to be standard appearance. The browser is not trying to display anything else. All you have done after you press the OK is close the form. After forms closes it simply keeps the gray box there.

One thing that you will note about 9iAS is that it has a HUGE install
footprint when compared to Weblogic and JBoss. Weblogic and JBoss
are relatively simple to get going, ie. less configuration.

About a month ago we had a small group of remote users that started using
our 9IAS server to gain access to an online application. Previously these
users were like the rest of our remote users using our 6i forms and reports
servers. The group of users had to switch to 9ias because

there's not much choice in what you install in 9iAS. You pretty much select
a pre-defined type of install. If you choose an option that includes Portal
you should be fine.

AFAIK, the bug exists for at least Solaris, AIX HP.

A week or so ago I posted WRT having problems printing a report directly to
a printer from 9iAS R2
8.1.7 RDBMS, 9iAS and 9.2 RDBMS should all be installed in separate
ORACLE_HOME's. If may be that the 9.2 database install went to the same
ORACLE_HOME as the 9iAS install.
If so, you will likely need to reinstall both 9iAS and 9iR2.

for port conflicts between the Apache installed with 9iAS and the one with
9.2. If you're using web cache on iAS check the port that is using
also.
Are
you using iAS Release 2 (9.0.2)? If so, and both the infrastructure and
mid-tier are on the same server, they will each have
experience in the 9iAS, so we can't really say
where the problem is. The database is up and open and I can hit it from
command line sqlplus.
Any ideas what went wrong and how to fix it? Should we have done a reboot
of the host after the Oracle 9i install? We did not.
