Prior to the advent of 8i, uniform extents had to be enforced through making
sure that every extent in a given tablespace was the same size by using
appropriate values in the storage clause in effect at the time of object

I've been using LMTs in production systems since 1999 with no problems. I've
been doing uniform extents for (almost) everything (enforced through controlling
the DDL) since 1990 - and wouldn't have it any other way.
My strategy is simple - assign

Ethan - Can you use the SQL command ALTER TABLE MOVE? In a quick glance at
the documentation, it seems like you could probably use it on a table with a
LONG. Test it first, obviously.

I am using it for some of my new databases and so far there are no
issues. I have long ago given up on caring how many extents there
will be. I only tend to size for tablespace sizing purposes. I had
no issues before hand and I have no issues now
