I am getting a significant number of messages in my alert log which look
like:
Failed to archive log# seq#
If I read further down in the log, I may see several failures for the
same log and sequence and then finally a message saying:
Completed archiving log# seq#
What do these messages

Hi all,
I just wanted a little insight on the following entries of my alert log file;

ARC0: Beginning to archive log# 3 seq
e, so we're forcing a switch
(alter system archive log current) with a cron job every 30 minutes.
Every time a manual log switch occurs, we see this message in the alert log:
ARC0: Failed to archive log# 2 seq# 854
However, the switch always completes a few tenths of a second later.
