Natalia, follow the 9i Installation Guide very carefully, especially the
parts about setting up the DBA user and group accounts, permissions, etc.
Also, on UNIX you have to set the kernel parameters in /etc/system, among
other things. All of this is in the Installation Guide.

Check your operating system version. Version 2.6 or 5.6 is required.
