While Metalink is up and working, it's sporatically dropping out.
A word to the wise. If you're about to spend a chunk of time updating a TAR, do it in a text editor, SAVE it, copy it into your TAR, then update. If you spend 30 minutes updating your TAR, push the update button, and get an "action cancelled" message and lose everything, you're likely to say some VERY bad words that might get you escorted out of the building.
