To properly move a tablespace you should put it in read only mode so the
header is not written to. Copy the data files, bring the tablespace
offline, rename the files, bring it online and make it read write. You can
do this all while the database is up and running.

Wouldn't that depend on which one it is? I know on NT, I can just take the
tablespace off line, copy it and then alter it using dba studio. However,
this will not work for the system tablespace, since I don't think you can
take it offline:)
