Sinardy, 5 DB blocks is the default for INITIAL and NEXT extents, if you don't specify them, not necessarily the recommended size.
The extent size of any segment depends more on the size of the segment, but should always be an integer multiple of db_file_multiblock_read_count. The best recommendation is to have one or a few standard extent sizes in locally-managed tablespaces. Jack -------------------------------- Jack C.
