My reading of that is that they chose RH over *Unix* rather than Windows for the DB Server.

I'm also a bit surprised given that the problem was with business logic malfunction that they were able to port all their app code to a different platform without recoding (otherwise its comparing apples to oranges). Oh and it's a lottery of which I disapprove.
