Alexandre - Often RMAN is used only once or twice a day, so it easy to
export it. The other advantage of the export is in case of a disaster
recovery onto a "loaner" machine, it is easier to get your RMAN catalog back
running. You can copy the export over to the target system so that gets
written
Yes, it is very possible. That would work as well as a cold backup. I just
wanted the archivelogs too.

I have put my recovery catalog database in archivelog mode. I do a cold
backup of the database and the archivelogs each Friday. This way I won't
lose it.
