Not necessary to use glibc-2.1, Oracle has a patch for using with glibc-2.2. It's on the download page for linux Oracle, it's at technet.oracle.com. It is a set of stubs that point 2.1 calls to 2.2 functions. It requires relinking Oracle and includes instructions. Jared On Friday 01 June 2
