Dear list,
Question in Brief:
1. On 7.3 client even if NLS_LANG in registry is set to
'AMERICAN_AMERICA.US7ASCII', the default NLS_DATE_FORMAT for the
session is set to 'DD-MON-YY'. How come? Shouldn't it be
'DD-MON-RR'? There is no environment variable NLS_LAN
Though I know nothing about MetaFrame, I do
know that an NLS_LANG env variable will
override the registry setting.
I'm assuming that these users must somewhere login
to Windows, even if they don't do so directly. Set
the env var NLS_LANG='my char set' for them.

Metaframe "user based" character
set when the default nls_lang is in registry...
Thank you in advance...
Joshua

Does anyone know how or if it is possible to change the NLS_LANG value for
a database that has already been created?
I believe the answer is no, but I wanted a sanity check (Lord knows I need
one). Thanks.

Dear lister,
We are going to build 2 new production databases. Does the NLS_LANG
statement go in the create script or in the init.ora?
