*Job Title : Cognos Administrator Location: Austin, TX Duration: 6+Month Contract* Job Description Strong experience in IBM Cognos products and architecture including: Report Studio, Analysis Studio, Query Studio, Cognos Connection, IBM Cognos Administration, and Framework Manager. Install and configure tools, gateways, dispatchers and Web Servers. Tune the Cognos production servers to ensure uninterrupted availability of the platform. Perform load testing, recommend upgrades, and troubleshoot bottlenecks by working with DBA and server infrastructure teams. Assess and recommend tools, methods, and resources to maintain and enhance the production environment. Create documentation and run-books for 1st and 2nd level support personnel. Strong experience integrating Cognos with enterprise infrastructure including Windows Server, IIS, clustering and load balancing technologies. Strong experience creating packages, importing and exporting content to Dev, QA and production servers, creating data sources, securing reports, packages, deployment folders and data source connections. Strong experience working with multiple report types including List, Crosstab, and Chart, and features such as cascading prompts, dashboards, drill through, conditional blocks, conditional variables, date range buckets, date conversions, and weekly, monthly and yearly aggregations and scheduling, and bursting reports. Strong experience in Cognos end-user support, including troubleshooting permissions, data quality, and row-level database security. Excellent analytical, logical, interpersonal, communication and organization skills, combined with the ability to work in a fast paced environment as an individual and as a team member. Proven ability to deliver quality product on budget and on schedule. VB.NET or C#.NET development skills using Oracle databases and will be familiar with PL/SQL and Visual Studio,. Cognos Administration certification. Strong experience in supporting, maintaining and extending the functionality of Cognos 8.4 BI reports & Cubes with ASP.NET web customized prompt pages coupled with an Oracle 10g back end. Responsibilities include requirements gathering and analysis, coding, writing PL/SQL, report development, documenting issues and procedures, version control, and testing. Yu will work in a challenging, small team environment to support the HR & Financial reporting applications, monitoring the performance of production servers, and by working with field team members and customers to gather additional requirements and troubleshoot issues.
