*Position: Senior Devops Engineer* *Location: Vancouver BC (Canada)* *Duration: Long Term* *Job Description:* Thorough knowledge of scripting language(s) (i.e. bash / perl or python). Powershell is also desirable. Understanding / configuration / maintenance of VMWare virtualisation platform, and VMWare ancillary tools (SRM / DRS / Backup / Migration). Understanding of provisioning and life-cycling. Solid grounding in systems and task automation, and the associated tools to accomplish this. Patching and outage window planning. Application server implementation / deployment experience ( Weblogic, JBOSS, Tomcat ) Solid understanding of shared storage systems, and storage protocols. Ability to engage in logical troubleshooting process, being engaged until resolution. Clear understanding of basic network concepts (firewalling, routing, etc.), with a deep understanding of the Linux network implementation. *Experience with installation, hardening, administration and troubleshooting of Redhat Linux* *Minimum experience* • Experience with managing and maintaining a large, distributed install base of linux based servers in an Enterprise environment. (All steps from provisioning, management / automation, patching, backup, DR and decommissioning). • 6 years with special emphasis on technical systems administration primarily on Linux/Unix. • Significant experience deploying and troubleshooting complex Linux systems. • Experience in an apparel retail environment is highly desired. • Experience with installation, hardening, administration and troubleshooting RPM based systems (i.e. Redhat). • Experience performing relevant provisioning tasks in a VMWare VSphere based virtualization environment. • Some Windows experience an asset.
