*Job Brief*

Design, develop and/or implement large, complex technology solutions
supporting one or more business and/or technology areas. Develops and
implements appropriate solutions that may involve multiple platforms,
software/hardware, technologies and tools. Strong ability to multi-task in
an environment of constantly changing priorities of our IT infrastructure.



*Unix/Linux SME Responsibilities*

•                    Design, implementation and operational support of
VMware ESXi 5.x clusters.

•                    Builds, tests, and maintains Linux based hardware and
software infrastructure components.

•                    Assess, diagnose, and troubleshoot Cisco UCS B-Series
and C-Series with UCS Manager.

•                    Assess, diagnose, and troubleshoot all storage systems
(EMC Vmax, IBM Storage, Netapp).

•                    Documents all policies, procedures and standards
around the build and continuing operation of ESXi and Linux systems. Proven
skill set with keeping up with cutting edge open source technologies.

•                    Ensures that infrastructure systems are designed,
implemented, and supported to meet our internal standards.

•                    Solves problems related to installation,
implementation, maintenance, and operations of hardware and software, and
related infrastructure components.



*Qualifications/Experience*



•                    Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer
Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.

•                    10+ years of Linux systems administration experience,
expert with lvm, multipath, bonding and tools for troubleshooting and
performance tuning.

•                    Should have a good understanding of NFS, Samba, DNS
and networking stack TCP/IP.

•                    5+ years of Cisco UCS design and configuration.

•                    5+ years of Server and Blade Hardware experience.

•                    5+ years of VMware ESXi engineering and administration
experience in complex environment.

•                    Ability to provision bare metal/virtual machine
installs, configure, operate, and maintain systems including the following
operating systems: RHEL 5.x- 6.x or OEL 5.x - 6.x - 7.x.

•                    Experience configuring Linux-based Web and Middleware
technologies (Apache, Tomcat, etc).

•                    Configuration manager: Puppet preferred. Understanding
of Chef or Cfengine experience is helpful.

•                    Kickstart server configuration, automation and
maintenance.

•                    Shell scripting (bash, awk, sed, Perl).

•                    Understanding of Yum and RPM and how to create
application repositories and synchronization of application repos.

•                    Deep ESXi and Linux systems experience including
capacity planning, advanced diagnostics and troubleshooting,  performance
management and p2v and v2v migration

•                    Experience managing servers in large corporate
environments, including security, security policy compliance, and exception
processes.

•                    Understand ssh and ssh keys.

•                    Excellent communication and documentation skills. Must
have quality team building skills, positive attitude, detail oriented,
self-motivated and strong project management skills.
