*Position: * *SAS Developer * *Location : Washington , DC Duration : 6+ Months * *Interview Mode: Phone / Skype (Locals Preferred) * * GC , USC Only Job Description* · Apply your software development expertise to implement financial models for corporate accounting and corporate forecast use. Gain exposure to model research and model use to provide senior management the results to set corporate direction. · Need a developer to work on projects for Home Price Portfolio including Home Price Forecast Application (HPFA) and Home Price History (RTI). · HPFA is a Forecast Model built using SAS with UNIX Shell Scripts (AIX) and Autosys. RTI uses SAS and UNIX shell script. · The position requires SAS programming experience to enhance reporting & operational functionalities and migration to the SASGrid. · It will also require Shell Scripting and Autosys experience to integrate the component into the existing HPFA framework. Job Responsibilities · Interpret economic, asset pricing, and performance models and translate them into system requirements. Ability to capture system requirements via reverse engineering. · Design new and enhance existing model components and modeling architecture framework for the system, implement and test them to ensure the business needs are met and analytics are correctly generated. · Work independently to make decisions on model components and application development approaches with limited supervision. Conceptualize solution to business policy and issues while remaining focused on optimizing the impact of change on existing processes and software. · Collaborate with other team members, business units, and user groups to identify impacts of changes or enhancements, estimate level of effort, provide inputs to project schedules, and make effort to meet the schedules. May require to work after normal working hours and weekends when needed. · Collaborate with test, change and configuration management, and execution teams on system changes, tests, and application production releases. · Document the application system artifacts, technical issues, and recommendations clearly and in a timely manner that ensures proper understanding by both business and technical staff. · Ensure model application development and system access and operation compliance with the company standards and procedures. · Provide technical guidance or consultation to less senior staff. Share knowledge and experience with other team members. Train or mentor users based on their needs. Education · Bachelor's Degree or equivalent required · Master's degree in Computer Science, Math, Economics or other quantitative discipline preferred Job Requirement · Require an strong understanding of numerical and statistical techniques · At least 4 years of experience with SAS in a UNIX/SAS Grid Environment. · Familiarity with Software Engineering techniques using Object Oriented language such as Java, C++, and Python preferred. · Experience with UNIX and LINUX Scripting (ksh), Subversion/Clearcase/ClearQuest, Excel are required. · Proficient in coding advanced modeling concepts and mathematical equations. · Experience with sophisticated models (financial or scientific) and data analysis is preferred. · Knowledge of compute-intensive analytics and technical computing workload solutions. · Knowledge of Tableau and Hadoop, a plus · Proven leadership experience preferred toself-direct and collaborate with others to complete complex requirements to achieve business objectives · Must be a self-starter and motivated to learn new techniques, skills, and knowledge required by his or her duties and responsibilities in required timeframe. · The contractor will be responsible for implementing system process improvements and enhancing reporting capabilities. · The contractor is responsible for translating complex requirements to document design and solution specification per SDLC standards. · Once reporting capability is updated, it will be integrated into the HPFA or RTI framework. · The contractors must work with business analysts, system testers and model researchers complete the task. · The contractor must be 5+ years of SAS development experience. · It would be strongly preferable if the contractor also has 3+ years of Shell Scripting experience. · Requires effective multi-tasking skills to meet dynamic, simultaneous, business and project needs in a timely manner · Experience in the financial services industry, especially a background in risk management or home price forecasting or estimation, is a plus.
