*Job Title: Linux ArchitectLocation: Austin, TXDuration: Long term contract* *Role and ResponsibilitiesThe Linux Solutions Architect is responsible for computing infrastructure implementation from an overall architectural, engineering, and operations standpoint. Expertise requirements* *include strong Linux/UNIX OS, network design (hardware, services and security), server capacity planning (web, application and database) and storage solutions. Key responsibilitiesCollaboration with customers to design and implement highly available, disaster resilient systems infrastructure architecture.Design, review, and implement standards, processes, operating procedures, and consistently applies these standards.Leading the technical review of the product RFI’s/RFP’s, recommending solutions and participating in the technical negotiations.Proficiency creating infrastructure diagrams and presentation or infrastructure proposals to both technical and non-technical customers.Provide 3rd level engineering support for customer facing and internal systemsLead and guide both customer and internal teams in the understanding of technical implementation, documentation, and processes.Lead/Mentor all personnel involved in IT services such as functional systems administration, processes, troubleshooting, technical design, and technical implementation of multiple* *implementations. Basic QualificationsMinimum 5 years’ experience designing, implementing, and managing complex infrastructures* *Minimum 8 years’ experience with the following:Linux configuration and systems administration, using distributions such as Red Hat, CentOS, Oracle, Suse and Debian.Capacity planning, including the sizing of servers, supporting storage and network infrastructure.Configuring and managing storage area networks, network attached storage and/or big data solutions.High availability and disaster recovery planning, including the use of backup software, failover systems, load balancers, clusters (application and database) and link balancers.System management including the use of help desk software and management tools such as Nagios, Whatsup Gold, Hardcat, Spiceworks and Jira.
